What will hydrocortisone cream do to help cure my ecezma which i have had for two months?

I have had my ecezma around my mouth for approximately two months, and to get to my doctor, i have to wake up at seven o%26#039;clock in the morning because

they only work in mornings. So today i decided to finally go

and the doctor prescribed me with Hydrocortison Cream (30

grams) and E45 Cream. At the moment, my ecezma is very

red, flakey and itchy. What will the Hydrocortisone and the E45 do ? Will they remove the redness? itchyness? flakiness?

- Thank you!|||It will help reduce the inflammation. There is no cure for eczema, but the hydra cortisone will help to control your itchiness and irritation. I have been taking Desoximetasone Cream for my eczema for the past six years now. It helps, but it wont cure it. It also helps with the dry skin. I have found that in the winter when my skin gets dry, i have a harder time controlling my eczema.|||Atopic eczema is usually a long term problem, however, it can be managed.

E45 works as an emollient, which helps to hydrate the skin, preventing dryness and itching. Use the E45 throughout the day as much as you need. Get a small tube and keep in in your pocket / bag. As an alternative, and cheaper, if you pay for it, is Aqueous Cream, which has even fewer additives than E45 (which is pretty uncomplicated itself). Ask your pharmacist.

The hydrocortisone would then be used to treat flare-ups. It reduces inflammation, and an improvement may be seen within 7 - 10 days. Not always, though! If simple hydrocortisone 1% fails, there are some stronger steroid creams which can be used, although I%26#039;d normally plump for the weaker ones around the mouth.

Note :

1 : after applying the hydrocortisone, leave off the E45 for a while so it can do its work undiluted.

2 : even if your condition has improved, put a little E45 on (not the hydrocortisone) just to moisturise and protect against dryness.

3 : avoid cosmetics for a while - you may be allergic to some.

4 : if you have to use cosmetics, try different, simpler ones.

Oh, and just for curiosity%26#039;s sake, any eczema / asthma / hay fevers or allergies in your family?|||Hydrocortisone will remove the itch, and the E45 will most likely soothe it and calm it from future flare-ups. My Mom had ecezma, I feel for ya.

I'm using Hydrocortisone cream to treat my 8 month old exzema can i use Aveeno products along with it?

I would say that its ok! If aveeno does not help maybe you should check out Arbonne baby care line! I have several people using it and love it!!

The hydrocortisone cream my doctor prescribed me with isn't working on the eczema i've had around my mouth.

I have had eczema around my mouth for two months. When i take a shower it seems to get redder and flakier. So i decided to see my doctor. He prescribed me with Hydrocortisone cream and E45 cream. He told me to use hydrocortisone cream twice a day, morning and evening and if after 7-10 days my eczema does not clear up to visit him again. It%26#039;s been four days now and I don%26#039;t see a difference. Should I either:

- Stop using hydrocortisone and start using E45 cream.

- Carry on using hydrocortisone cream until 7-10 days.

- Use both - but how much hours should i wait till i put the E45 cream after i put the hydrocortisone?

And, how can i take a shower without my eczema getting worse... I%26#039;m 14, this is my first time getting eczema and none of my family have had eczema or ashtma in their life

- much appreciated.. thanks!|||Hi there, I have had eczema all my life so I know exactly how horrible it can be. My personal advice! Forget E45. I found it only dried my skin more and didn%26#039;t moisturise or help with the flaking (it made it worse).

First thing to do is see your doctor about getting a stronger hydrocortisone. I have used Nerisone for the past 10 years and I swear by it. But you have to follow a few rules. Always wash the area first just with water. Then apply the cream, only a little and make it spread well, then it should be ok. If its on your body try to cover with just soft cotton garments. Nothing too heavy as this will aggravate the skin. If its on your face its going to dry up quickly so check it every hour or when you feel it getting dry. If it is, go and wipe the area again with cold water, make sure its clean then apply the cream again - sparingly. I would recommend this for 3 days, and you should see some results in this time. A warm 10 minute shower (not too hot) should be good for the skin, try a use a body cream like Simple - non fragrant for dry skin relief. If you%26#039;re a guy, don%26#039;t think this a girly thing, all skin needs to be moisturised to prevent is breaking and getting sore. Your skin will be dry quickly after a shower so its important to dry yourself and get into the moisturiser as soon as poss. I would also recommend showering again at night, to clean the skin and re moisturise. If you leave it the skin will get sore again. I am in my 30%26#039;s and have had eczema since I was 2, so I%26#039;ve tried pretty much all the creams and lotions around. I really hope this helps and good luck. PS I have been 99.9 % eczema free for the last 12 years!|||I have eczema on my hands and I had hydrocortisone cream and it didn%26#039;t work and if you use it for long periods it can thin your skin, use the E45 at least 4 times a day it will hydrate your skin and should make a difference in about a week. Hope it gets better.|||I have eczema on my eyelids- a dermatologist told me to apply the medication on the affected area, apply a warm washcloth on my eyelids for 5 minutes then reapply the medicine. The warm washcloth opens the pores so more of the medication is absorbed and when I reapply the medicine it is also absorbed more readily.

I met the Man, 10 years ago %26amp; it is by far the best advice I%26#039;ve received for my eczema

By the way, while you are having a flare up use gentle hypoallergenic soaps like Cetaphil instead of soap %26amp; gentle facial %26amp; body products.

Hydrocortisone cream?

My vagina has been very itchy lately and I don%26#039;t know why. I%26#039;ve tried used vagisil and it doesn%26#039;t seem to help much. Now I%26#039;m thinking about using this anti-itch hydrocortisone cream I bought today. Has anybody ever used it down there? It says it%26#039;s ok for external genital, feminine itching.. Also does anybody else experience, or has anyone ever experienced a very itchy vagina? I%26#039;m fairly certain I don%26#039;t have an STD, but the itch is driving me insane. I don%26#039;t have insurance and I can%26#039;t afford a check up, and I haven%26#039;t been able to make it to a clinic or anything. I%26#039;m thinking about getting on birth control kind of soon, do you think that may help with the itching and other problems I%26#039;ve been having down south? I%26#039;m not trying to gross anyone out with the itching and whatnot, but it%26#039;s seriously driving me insane. Please only serious answer. Thanks ahead of time for your responces. :)|||Hydrocortisone is an anti inflamatory cream or ointment. It will relieve itching redness and sometimes pain. It is not normal to be itching in that area constantly and may be a yeast infection. If it is a yeast infection you would need an anti fungal not an anti inflamatory. It is important that you get that taken care of as it can lead to a UTI, (urinary tract infection) which will cause much more pain and irritation. If you still don%26#039;t take care of it at that point it can turn into UROsepsis, and infect your entire system, which could lead to a sudden drop in blood pressure and septic shock. If septic shock isnt treated immediately it can lead to death.|||you might have vaginal dryness you should see a doctor|||I haven%26#039;t tried hydrocortisone cream for that area. Usually the vagisil works okay for me.

Is your vagina dry? Maybe some vaginal moisturizer would help? KY Silky (it used to be called) works well for that.

Have you ever had a yeast infection? that can cause major itching. they have over the counter kits to treat that. although if it%26#039;s your first one you%26#039;re supposed to see a doctor first. i understand that%26#039;s not always possible though.|||You might have a bacterial infection, yeast infection, anything. It isn%26#039;t anything to get embarrassed about because women all over the world has the same experience at one time or another. Makes you wish that you could use a a brush or something up there and just tear it up! You could try the yeast medications that are over the counter, they work good for me. It%26#039;s cheaper then a doctors office co-pay. You do what you think is the best thing for you, since I%26#039;m not a doctor. Good luck to you.

Hydrocortisone Cream 1% use in toddler question???

My son (18 months old) had a small red spot with flaky skin on it on his temple. His pediatrician suggested that we use hydrocortisone cream on it...any brand. So we used Cortaid to be exact. Anyways...we only used it maybe 3 times and I noticed that his skin is lighter where we appiled the cream. So I looked it up online and found that it can change your skin pigmentation!!! I wish his Dr. would have said something...but this has happened now and I%26#039;m just wondering if this is a permanent skin discoloration now? Anybody know from experience or knowledge? Needless to say...it did take care of his little patch of dry skin, but what it did as a side effect is not worth it. =( Are there any other worries after using that stuff that I should know about?|||Hydrocortisone can cause thinning of skin and depigmentation, but usually after chronic use and in high dose not 1 %

without seeing it its tough to give you right answer but my advice is hold hydrocortisone cream now ,use Eucerine for seaborrhic dermatitis(this is what looklike your son have)

hydrocortisone cream side effects are temporary and they will go away after stopping the cream.

How many grams of 2.5% hydrocortisone cream should be mixed with 5%cream to make a 30g 10%cream?

Unfortunately, you can%26#039;t put 2.5% and 5% together and make 10%, so just stick with the 5%.

Is hydrocortisone cream good on a swollen up and itchy mosquito bite or insect bite?

Sure is..|||It is good.

I like to take my nail and make an X through the bite, that takes the pain and itch away.|||yes but if it doesn%26#039;t help...try applying a paste of baking soda...it%26#039;ll draw out the itchy stuff.|||yep. it will stop the itch.
