What will hydrocortisone cream do to help cure my ecezma which i have had for two months?

I have had my ecezma around my mouth for approximately two months, and to get to my doctor, i have to wake up at seven o%26#039;clock in the morning because

they only work in mornings. So today i decided to finally go

and the doctor prescribed me with Hydrocortison Cream (30

grams) and E45 Cream. At the moment, my ecezma is very

red, flakey and itchy. What will the Hydrocortisone and the E45 do ? Will they remove the redness? itchyness? flakiness?

- Thank you!|||It will help reduce the inflammation. There is no cure for eczema, but the hydra cortisone will help to control your itchiness and irritation. I have been taking Desoximetasone Cream for my eczema for the past six years now. It helps, but it wont cure it. It also helps with the dry skin. I have found that in the winter when my skin gets dry, i have a harder time controlling my eczema.|||Atopic eczema is usually a long term problem, however, it can be managed.

E45 works as an emollient, which helps to hydrate the skin, preventing dryness and itching. Use the E45 throughout the day as much as you need. Get a small tube and keep in in your pocket / bag. As an alternative, and cheaper, if you pay for it, is Aqueous Cream, which has even fewer additives than E45 (which is pretty uncomplicated itself). Ask your pharmacist.

The hydrocortisone would then be used to treat flare-ups. It reduces inflammation, and an improvement may be seen within 7 - 10 days. Not always, though! If simple hydrocortisone 1% fails, there are some stronger steroid creams which can be used, although I%26#039;d normally plump for the weaker ones around the mouth.

Note :

1 : after applying the hydrocortisone, leave off the E45 for a while so it can do its work undiluted.

2 : even if your condition has improved, put a little E45 on (not the hydrocortisone) just to moisturise and protect against dryness.

3 : avoid cosmetics for a while - you may be allergic to some.

4 : if you have to use cosmetics, try different, simpler ones.

Oh, and just for curiosity%26#039;s sake, any eczema / asthma / hay fevers or allergies in your family?|||Hydrocortisone will remove the itch, and the E45 will most likely soothe it and calm it from future flare-ups. My Mom had ecezma, I feel for ya.

I'm using Hydrocortisone cream to treat my 8 month old exzema can i use Aveeno products along with it?

I would say that its ok! If aveeno does not help maybe you should check out Arbonne baby care line! I have several people using it and love it!!

The hydrocortisone cream my doctor prescribed me with isn't working on the eczema i've had around my mouth.

I have had eczema around my mouth for two months. When i take a shower it seems to get redder and flakier. So i decided to see my doctor. He prescribed me with Hydrocortisone cream and E45 cream. He told me to use hydrocortisone cream twice a day, morning and evening and if after 7-10 days my eczema does not clear up to visit him again. It%26#039;s been four days now and I don%26#039;t see a difference. Should I either:

- Stop using hydrocortisone and start using E45 cream.

- Carry on using hydrocortisone cream until 7-10 days.

- Use both - but how much hours should i wait till i put the E45 cream after i put the hydrocortisone?

And, how can i take a shower without my eczema getting worse... I%26#039;m 14, this is my first time getting eczema and none of my family have had eczema or ashtma in their life

- much appreciated.. thanks!|||Hi there, I have had eczema all my life so I know exactly how horrible it can be. My personal advice! Forget E45. I found it only dried my skin more and didn%26#039;t moisturise or help with the flaking (it made it worse).

First thing to do is see your doctor about getting a stronger hydrocortisone. I have used Nerisone for the past 10 years and I swear by it. But you have to follow a few rules. Always wash the area first just with water. Then apply the cream, only a little and make it spread well, then it should be ok. If its on your body try to cover with just soft cotton garments. Nothing too heavy as this will aggravate the skin. If its on your face its going to dry up quickly so check it every hour or when you feel it getting dry. If it is, go and wipe the area again with cold water, make sure its clean then apply the cream again - sparingly. I would recommend this for 3 days, and you should see some results in this time. A warm 10 minute shower (not too hot) should be good for the skin, try a use a body cream like Simple - non fragrant for dry skin relief. If you%26#039;re a guy, don%26#039;t think this a girly thing, all skin needs to be moisturised to prevent is breaking and getting sore. Your skin will be dry quickly after a shower so its important to dry yourself and get into the moisturiser as soon as poss. I would also recommend showering again at night, to clean the skin and re moisturise. If you leave it the skin will get sore again. I am in my 30%26#039;s and have had eczema since I was 2, so I%26#039;ve tried pretty much all the creams and lotions around. I really hope this helps and good luck. PS I have been 99.9 % eczema free for the last 12 years!|||I have eczema on my hands and I had hydrocortisone cream and it didn%26#039;t work and if you use it for long periods it can thin your skin, use the E45 at least 4 times a day it will hydrate your skin and should make a difference in about a week. Hope it gets better.|||I have eczema on my eyelids- a dermatologist told me to apply the medication on the affected area, apply a warm washcloth on my eyelids for 5 minutes then reapply the medicine. The warm washcloth opens the pores so more of the medication is absorbed and when I reapply the medicine it is also absorbed more readily.

I met the Man, 10 years ago %26amp; it is by far the best advice I%26#039;ve received for my eczema

By the way, while you are having a flare up use gentle hypoallergenic soaps like Cetaphil instead of soap %26amp; gentle facial %26amp; body products.

Hydrocortisone cream?

My vagina has been very itchy lately and I don%26#039;t know why. I%26#039;ve tried used vagisil and it doesn%26#039;t seem to help much. Now I%26#039;m thinking about using this anti-itch hydrocortisone cream I bought today. Has anybody ever used it down there? It says it%26#039;s ok for external genital, feminine itching.. Also does anybody else experience, or has anyone ever experienced a very itchy vagina? I%26#039;m fairly certain I don%26#039;t have an STD, but the itch is driving me insane. I don%26#039;t have insurance and I can%26#039;t afford a check up, and I haven%26#039;t been able to make it to a clinic or anything. I%26#039;m thinking about getting on birth control kind of soon, do you think that may help with the itching and other problems I%26#039;ve been having down south? I%26#039;m not trying to gross anyone out with the itching and whatnot, but it%26#039;s seriously driving me insane. Please only serious answer. Thanks ahead of time for your responces. :)|||Hydrocortisone is an anti inflamatory cream or ointment. It will relieve itching redness and sometimes pain. It is not normal to be itching in that area constantly and may be a yeast infection. If it is a yeast infection you would need an anti fungal not an anti inflamatory. It is important that you get that taken care of as it can lead to a UTI, (urinary tract infection) which will cause much more pain and irritation. If you still don%26#039;t take care of it at that point it can turn into UROsepsis, and infect your entire system, which could lead to a sudden drop in blood pressure and septic shock. If septic shock isnt treated immediately it can lead to death.|||you might have vaginal dryness you should see a doctor|||I haven%26#039;t tried hydrocortisone cream for that area. Usually the vagisil works okay for me.

Is your vagina dry? Maybe some vaginal moisturizer would help? KY Silky (it used to be called) works well for that.

Have you ever had a yeast infection? that can cause major itching. they have over the counter kits to treat that. although if it%26#039;s your first one you%26#039;re supposed to see a doctor first. i understand that%26#039;s not always possible though.|||You might have a bacterial infection, yeast infection, anything. It isn%26#039;t anything to get embarrassed about because women all over the world has the same experience at one time or another. Makes you wish that you could use a a brush or something up there and just tear it up! You could try the yeast medications that are over the counter, they work good for me. It%26#039;s cheaper then a doctors office co-pay. You do what you think is the best thing for you, since I%26#039;m not a doctor. Good luck to you.

Hydrocortisone Cream 1% use in toddler question???

My son (18 months old) had a small red spot with flaky skin on it on his temple. His pediatrician suggested that we use hydrocortisone cream on it...any brand. So we used Cortaid to be exact. Anyways...we only used it maybe 3 times and I noticed that his skin is lighter where we appiled the cream. So I looked it up online and found that it can change your skin pigmentation!!! I wish his Dr. would have said something...but this has happened now and I%26#039;m just wondering if this is a permanent skin discoloration now? Anybody know from experience or knowledge? Needless to say...it did take care of his little patch of dry skin, but what it did as a side effect is not worth it. =( Are there any other worries after using that stuff that I should know about?|||Hydrocortisone can cause thinning of skin and depigmentation, but usually after chronic use and in high dose not 1 %

without seeing it its tough to give you right answer but my advice is hold hydrocortisone cream now ,use Eucerine for seaborrhic dermatitis(this is what looklike your son have)

hydrocortisone cream side effects are temporary and they will go away after stopping the cream.

How many grams of 2.5% hydrocortisone cream should be mixed with 5%cream to make a 30g 10%cream?

Unfortunately, you can%26#039;t put 2.5% and 5% together and make 10%, so just stick with the 5%.

Is hydrocortisone cream good on a swollen up and itchy mosquito bite or insect bite?

Sure is..|||It is good.

I like to take my nail and make an X through the bite, that takes the pain and itch away.|||yes but if it doesn%26#039;t help...try applying a paste of baking soda...it%26#039;ll draw out the itchy stuff.|||yep. it will stop the itch.

Will hydrocortisone 1% cream reduce the redness of a zit if I put it on overnight?

Has anyone tried this?

Thanks!|||I%26#039;m guessin it will make it bigger...hydrocortisone is generally used for rashes or allergic reactions

it%26#039;s a zit, just ride it out, we went thru it

Can hydrocortisone cream hurt your unborn child. I used it only a few times but its 1% cortisone?

I am really worried. I didn%26#039;t think it was a problem now I am worried. Its over the counter.|||The concentration of the cream is really low, but hydrocortisone does get absorbed into your blood stream through the skin and crosses the blood barrier between you and the foetus. I don%26#039;t think any harm is done unless you really use it all the time on a large surface or take it as a pill and in much higher concentrations|||It should be fine, but if you are really worried call your doctor and ask. They will tell you if you should stop using it or not.|||No you%26#039;ll be fine and so will the babe

Hydrocortisone cream?

is it ok to put over the counter like cortizone 10 on labia ?|||NO!!! all I can say is Ouch that would sting, if you have vaginal itching from a condition such as a yeast infection then try monistat or another over the counter cream that is made for the vaginal area|||yes, its no problem.

Wait...what%26#039;s a %26quot;labia%26quot;?

Hydrocortisone cream?

I went to my GP today as I had an eczema -like allergic reaction on my chin/cheek a two days ago %26amp; he prescribed me some Hydrocortisone 1% cream (I also have to apply it twice a day, which I started today) %26amp; as it%26#039;s a steroid cream I know it can have a few side effects such as thinning of the skin etc.

So how long can I safely use it for?|||Good news 1% Hydrocortisone is so mild it neither produces marking or thinning and is safe to use on the face. It can be used 3 times a day if needed. However steroids are not the mainstay of eczema management this is emollients and moisturisers and the avoidance of soaps and detergents etc.|||You are correct in being careful applying cortisone cream to the skin, as atrophy and thinning are one of the side effects. Generally, though, the thinning is more of a problem with the stronger, fluorinated cortisones, and hydrocortisone cream is not fluoronated. Consequently, you have some lattitude with respect to the duration of treatment before you experience side effects. The type of skin is also important, as darker skinned people seem to be more resistant to the atrophy side effects. For sure, two weeks would be safe, and probably even longer, if needed.|||How long did he tell you to use it for. I%26#039;d say about fourteen days.

I have heard that steroid creams (hydrocortisone) can "thin" the skin-what does this actually mean?

Is it harmful to use and over what period of time????|||Hydrocortisone is the same as the natural corticosteroid, cortisol, and is used to decrease inflammation in the skin. When applied to the skin it is absorbed into the skin cells. Here it works by preventing the release of certain chemicals from the cells. These chemicals are important in the immune system, and are released as a result of allergy or irritation. They cause blood vessels to widen, resulting in the affected area of skin becoming red, swollen, itchy and painful, as is seen in dermatitis or eczema. By decreasing the release of these chemicals in the skin, hydrocortisone reduces inflammation and relieves itch.

If corticosteroids are used long-term, on large areas of skin, raw skin, skin folds, or under airtight dressings (including nappies) they are absorbed into the body more. This increases the risk of local side effects such as skin thinning, and those on other parts of the body, such as a decrease in the production of natural hormones by the adrenal glands. For this reason, continuous, long-term use of this medicine should be avoided wherever possible, particularly in children and on large areas of skin. You should only use airtight dressings over the affected area if instructed by your doctor.

Do not use this medicine for longer than seven days unless directed by your doctor.

Consult your doctor if there is no improvement in your skin after seven days, or if your skin becomes infected during treatment|||I have skin cancers and use hydrocortisone cream on the little ones(The larger ones get cut out under a local anaesthetic) the cream actually does thin the skin by removing it slowly

This is the result of sunbathing in the nude when young without sun block.|||Exactly what it says, the skin will gradually get thinner, making it more vulnerable to injury. Different parts of the body absorb it more than others, that is why you can use it on some parts of the body and have to be extra careful on others.

http://www.tiscali.co.uk/lifestyle/healt鈥?/a>|||If used over long periods of time topical steroids (steroids applied to the skin, usually in the form of a cream or ointment, and sometimes as a liquid) can thin the skin, making it appear transparent, fragile and over-susceptible to bruising. Blood vessels may also become more prominent. With time the skin can become so badly damaged that it loses its elasticity so that 鈥榮tretch marks鈥?develop. However, these effects usually only occur when potent steroids have been applied for a long time, either to the face or to covered parts of the body such as the flexures. Thinning can also occur when steroids are regularly applied under occlusion e.g. to the hands with plastic gloves or bags over and for this reason treatment of this type is limited to short periods of time under supervision of a doctor or nurse.

Hope this helps

The external cream"daktacort"(miconazole hydrocortisone 30g?

do anyone know what this cream is used for?|||Miconazole, an antifungal agent, is used for skin infections such as athlete%26#039;s foot and jock itch and for vaginal yeast infections.

It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a critical component of fungal cell membranes. It can also be used against certain species of Leishmania protozoa (which are a type of unicellular parasite), as these also contain ergosterol in their cell membranes. In addition to its antifungal and antiparasitic actions, it also has some limited antibacterial properties.

This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Please see the web pages for more details on Miconazole.|||Triple Action

Fungal infections information

What are fungal infections?

Fungal infections of the skin are not usually serious. However, they can last for a long time and their symptoms are nearly always unpleasant and upsetting.

Symptoms include inflamed and cracked skin, with itching and sometimes pain. Some infections slowly clear up by themselves but others are unlikely to clear up without being treated. The infection may come back.

Fungal infections are usually caused either by germs called dermatophytes or by yeasts such as candida. The skin, scalp and nails are most likely to be affected. Yeasts and dermatophytes grow well in moist, warm areas of the body such as:

the groin;

the anal and genital areas;

the armpits;

the area under the breasts;

in the skin folds of overweight people; and

between fingers and toes

What is Candidal Intertrigo or sweat rash (%26#039;thrush%26#039; of the skin folds)?

Sweating and rubbing together of moist skin parts (armpits, chest, between the legs etc) can produce tenderness, redness and swelling. This can lead to cracked skin allowing fungal and yeast infections to grow. Your skin will also be tender, red and swollen.

What is athlete%26#039;s foot?

Athlete%26#039;s foot is a fungal infection that affects your feet, particularly between your toes.

How to treat athlete%26#039;s foot and Candidal lntertrigo (sweat rash)

You should start treatment as soon as you notice the first-signs of an infection. The fungus grows so fast that it is important to treat the affected area quickly and thoroughly. If the infection has caused badly cracked skin, you should use a cream which will soothe it. If you are not sure what to do, please ask your pharmacist for advice.

How do you catch athlete%26#039;s foot?

Athlete%26#039;s foot is extremely infectious so anyone can pick it up, especially people who use shared changing rooms and showers.

When the fungal spores have been transferred onto the feet, they grow quickly in the warm, moist areas between the toes. The skin soon becomes inflamed and itchy and will flake or crack. The infected flakes of skin then come off onto the floor or into the shoes. Someone else will be easily infected if they step on these flakes, or if they share towels or footwear with someone who has already got athlete%26#039;s foot.

Even if you%26#039;ve already got rid of your athlete%26#039;s foot, it%26#039;s very easy to be infected again. The spores can live on or in your shoes or socks and if you don%26#039;t change them regularly, the athlete%26#039;s foot will come back.

How can I prevent my skin from becoming infected again?

If you want to help prevent yourself from being infected again, here are a few helpful hints.

Don%26#039;t wear the same pair of shoes or clothes every day. This helps reduce the build up of sweat which provides the moisture the fungus thrives on.

Don%26#039;t wear footwear made from man-made material. Wear cotton socks and leather shoes which allow your feet to breathe.

Don%26#039;t share towels or footwear.

Don%26#039;t walk in changing rooms without any shoes on.

Dry in between your toes thoroughly and keep your toenails short. This reduces the number of places that fungi can grow.

Try not to wear tight clothes when you are playing sport.

Always try and let air get to tender, sore areas.

Wash your hands thoroughly after you have treated the infected area.

Finish the course of treatment.

Is there an anti-itch cream without hydrocortisone?

I have a few different allergies that effect my skin so I end up breaking out once in a while in some places especially this time a year.

But I also seem to have a reaction to over the counter hydrocortisone creams since it seems to actually make the reaction worse.

Are there other creams or lotions out there that work well for itch relief that does not have hydrocortisone? I dont really want any prescription stuff since I know steroid creams are bad for the skin so I want to try to stay clear of that and maybe try other options first.|||The best anti-itch medication you can get over-the-counter contains diphyenhydramine, brand name Benadryl. It comes in ointments, sprays, and liquids.

Benadryl is an antihistamine that works against allergic reactions, but it is also a potent local anesthetic. So it will work for an itch that is not due to an allergy because it is an anesthetic, and it will work for an itch that is due to an allergy because it is an antihistamine. It also works a lot faster than hydrocortisone ointment.

There are other itch medications that have the %26quot;caine%26quot; chemicals in them such as lidocaine or benzocaine. They work because they are local anesthetics. But if I had an itch due to an allergy, I would go for the Benadryl. (Or the generics that are cheaper.)|||CALADRYL(Calamine %26amp; diphenhydramine Hydrochloride);- A soothing lotion for relief of Itching. Apply locally 3 times a day|||Try Benadryl cream or try Sarna Anti-Itch Lotion, located in the same aisle as the hydrocortisone creams. Both work well on me.

Does hydrotopic cream (Ingredients Hydrocortisone 1% w/w) help with external hemorrhoids? Home treatments?

I have external hemorrhoids and they are there for already 4 days. I found this Hydrotopic cream which is made of Hydrocortisone 1% w/w . I%26#039;ve seen that Hydrocortisone can help in Hemorrhoids. But this hydrotopic cream that I have wasnt bought for treating Hemorrhoids though. It was used for the face before. Can I apply this ? Will it help or will it make it worse?

And I%26#039;ve heard that hot sit baths can help, are there any other ways to remove external hemorrhoids from treatment at home?|||Use a proper hemmorhoid cream, such as Preparation H or Anusol. Sitz baths help---several per day. Ice also helps the swelling go down a lot---put an ice cube in a plastic bag, then in a towel. Ice for 10 min at a time, several times per day. If you can take one full day off work/school to do these things, plus to lie down as much as possible, you can dramatically improve the hemorrhoid.|||i probably wouldn%26#039;t use that stuff, go to the store and but the RIGHT product made to treat hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoidal ointment has mineral oil, petrolatum, phenylephrine, shark liver oil, beeswax, benzoic acid, BHA, corn oil, glycerin, lanolin, lanolin alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben, thyme oil, tocopherol and water in it. Does the stuff you found have all these ingredients?? I don%26#039;t think it does, the only thing that cream you have will prevent itching. It wont take care of the hemorrhoids, and they will get worse...and who wants to have them surgically removed!|||Hydrocortisone cream is good for assisting the skin to heal, however, prolonged use will cause skin to weaken and with haemorrhoids you don%26#039;t need weak skin, use for two weeks consecutive should be sufficient. Hope this helps. As a fellow sufferer I definitely feel for you.|||Verify that its main active ingredient is Hydrocortisone 1%. If yes, then also check the inactive ingredients to make sure you are not allergic to any.

You can use hydrocortisone cream externally for hemorrhoids.

Are pandel hydrocortisone probutate cream, 0.1% the same as desowen cream?

No they aren%26#039;t the same. Pandel is stronger than Desowen, it should only be used in the areas that your doctor precribed because steroid creams can cause thinning of the skin if used for prolonged times.|||Yes, they basically are. They are both Hydrocortisones

Can a vibrator and hydrocortisone cream make a vagina damaged forever?

Im really scared...i used a vibrator probably less than ten times in my life...i didnt realize how hot it got...it started to get irritated and itchy so at one point i used hydrocortisone cream down there quite a bit. My vagina has been itchy and inflammed for quite a few months and part of it looks like its been sliced open by the fold, like there is another fold. I moved to france a few months ago and have yeast infections off and on...is it the vibrator or just the change in soap, water, etc? I havent used the vibrator in a few months i threw it away.|||Vibrators can cause inflamation and itching but should not cause any permanant damage. You actually didnot need to throw it away. If you ever decide to use one again clean it with toy cleaner after each use. Also as soon as your done playing go pee this prevents infection. I would use a cream such a vaginex for the itching not cortisone cream. Also you may use neosporin on the cut. Avoid sex and masturbation until you heel completly. THis will prevent further probems.|||i think maybe that you just got a little carried away sweetie.......fadges are very delicate instruments...l.o.l. but don%26#039;t use it while using a steroid cream!!

have you had any anti-b%26#039;s recently as that could cause the candida by killing off the good bacteria in there. you need to see a doctor first and formost as it sounds like the cut has let in some bad bacteria and possibly made your outer fadge infected...hence the swelling...you need some anti b-%26#039;s to get rid of that. don%26#039;t bin the vibrator sweetie...have fun....just not too hard is all!!.l.o.l.

good luck.|||it might be just a yeast infection|||exactly how old r u? u sound like u might be sneaking your mom%26#039;s to use.|||A vibrator can cause an irritation that makes it easier to get a yeast infection. Which it sounds like you may have. There are many over the counter treatments available for it. The best advice is go to a doctor to see if it is yeast or not. Medicine meant to cure a yeast infection will not help a bacterial infection.

Good luck!

Dog ingested hydrocortisone cream (1%) Help?

Hi. I was cleaning and noticed hidden under my couch recliner was a chewed up tube of Hydrocortisone cream (1%) It was Cortizone 10. I don%26#039;t really think there was much in this tube because it looked really old. (Have no idea where she found it.)

She might have chewed this up a long time ago but just in case do you know how poisonous cortizone 10 is?

The thing is my vet does not open in another hour and the nearest emergency vet is... an hour away. =/

Any advice or help would be appreciated. Shes not vomiting or anything and has been asleep for at least 3hours so this had to be over 3hours ago.

Thanks! (Shes a 43lb pit bull btw)|||I%26#039;d monitor her and make sure she wasnt breathing badly and would respond, then take her to the vet as soon as they open just to be better safe then sorry

in all likelyhood it sounds like she is going to be fine, most dogs wouldnt like the taste i%26#039;d think and would not really eat the cream

but if unsure the answer is always better safe then sorry and seek the vet

Should i use cortate cream (hydrocortisone cream USP 0.5%)?

yesterday i went to the doctor and i been taking accutane for 3 months... my acne scars are getting better.. but they turn red... so the doctor told me to use cortate... to decrease the redness... but im scared to use it.. and than hair will start growing on my face... does anyone have any suggestion.. how to make the redness decrease... different than cortate...

please help |||Accutane! Oh wow.

Anyway, i%26#039;ve used hydrocortisone for my Eczema (for 3 years), and it worked! I%26#039;m completely Eczema-free (minus a small spot) so It%26#039;s working GREAT so far.

I have really sensitive skin and I used hydrocortisone and it does work. In my experience hair didn%26#039;t start growing or anything. And redness is a side-effect of the accutane, so I don%26#039;t think there is much other than to use the cortate, or a really good moisturizer!|||All drugs have side effects and that they do not always occur to anyone. The side effects of Hydrocortisone seldom occur, only 1% of its users. The usual side effects are Burning; itching; irritation; dryness; inflamed hair follicles; excessive hair growth; acne; loss of skin color; inflamed skin around the mouth; skin inflammation; secondary infection; stinging and cracking of the skin; skin wasting; streaks in the skin.

Covered in mosquito bites! Hydrocortisone cream isn't cutting it. Other suggestions?

My mom always did a baking soda bath for me when I was a kid! On the bad ones she would mix the baking soda into a paste and apply. Seemed to work, I remember getting the bites as we were catching fireflies, but not the painful itch afterwards.|||You are going to think I am crazy and so did my mother when I recommended this to her but she gave it a try and couldn%26#039;t get enough of it for her mosquito bites and that is Preparation H. . . I prefer the cream as the ointment does have a petroleum smell.

It has a topical anesthetic in it and it works wonders not just for bites of any kind but for sunburn as well. . . it is one of my staples along with other things in my medicine cabinet. . . I am never without a tube.|||Similar to Lisa, my parents did the same thing. We vacationed in Arkansas on a farm where the mosquitoes were huge. They came at you with a knife and fork. They always mixed vinegar or apple cider vinegear and baking soda (not powder) into a paste and applied it directly to the bites.|||try going to your doctor and getting a perscription .

Hydrocortisone cream for cat's skin rash?? is it toxic??

My cat gets these skin rashes, or %26quot;hot spots?%26quot; as I%26#039;ve heard them called. I am constantly taking him to the vet for this. The vet will give him a shot and it%26#039;ll clear up but then 2-3 weeks later my cat will get another spot. We have tried everything to rule out any allergies and my vet said the only thing we can really do is just wait for them to clear up because it%26#039;s not good to be giving the cat shots all the time. But now the sore is spreading. I have heard that hydrocortisone cream will work to clear it up, but my cat will just lick the cream off. I was wondering if this cream is toxic? If so, I definetely don%26#039;t want to use it. Any other suggestions? I don%26#039;t have the money to take my cat to the vet every couple of weeks.|||They have hydrocortisone spray for cats and dogs in the pet section that is safe to spray on pets. I use it on my cats when they get rashes or allergic reactions. I would go see if you can find some in the stores where you live.|||my cat was getting some kinda red rash and the hair was falling out where the rash was it turned out to be ring worm or some kin of fungus type in ring worm in cats on google or some search ands pictures will come up of cats and rashes anyhow i got some lamasil from ride aid the same one you and i would use put some on 2 times a day and it was gone in two weeks has not come back so no i dont think the hydro cream will affect him or lamasil my doctor told me most vets use the same things humans use to treat animals try it if his allergic then stop but it will probably solve it just put a tiny thin layer because they will try to lick or u can get lamisil spray works well|||Use bag balm instead of hydro cortisone. It comes in a green square can. Find it at walmart or a pet store. it is used on horses for similar problems and on minor cuts.it%26#039;s like the animal version of neosporine. i use it on my dog all the time.|||One of my longhair cats is always getting hot spots, and my vet has prescribed an ointment called Prenine, which clears them up very fast. As I am not sure whether you get the same ointment there, here are the ingredients:Nitronozone, prednisolone, neomycin Sulphate. It is an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory ointment, which is applied once or twice a day. In South Africa, it is only obtainable from a vet, but something similar may be obtained from a pet shop where you are. My vet has in the past, told me that hydro-cortisone is not poisonous to them, but that I should use it very sparingly, and only when I have nothing else to hand. These hot-spots can develop into very nasty, pus filled sores if you are not fast enough in treating them, and then the poor cat needs antibiotics as well.|||Hi

It%26#039;s not toxic to a cat but believe it or not, some cats get steroid induced diabetes so I would look for an alternate.

Could there be food allergies? If so (and even if not) Canned foods w/o gravy are best and if you can go high quality like wellness which doesn%26#039;t have gluten, that would be better. Some fancy feasts don%26#039;t have it but don%26#039;t have my links for which they are. sorry|||Hello..am not sure about the cream, you are right you do have to be careful what you put on cats cuz they to ingest it ( that I would ask the VET about before using )..they can take benadryl..1/2mg per pound up to 2 mgs every 8 hours for allergys %26amp; itching, etc..also pet stores sell brewer yeast tablets, which is also very good for them %26amp; their coats, cats or dogs...as for the sore, it%26#039;s not unusual for cat sores to stretch %26amp; get big, their skin stretches, as long as the cat or you can keep it broken open for drainage..all will be fine too..the thing with cats %26amp; wounds, is their skin heals over too fast, leaving underneath unhealed, so they often infect, even a few times till they heal..as long as it can be broken by the cat ( as they will do while healing ) all is well, tho it can get a bit gross %26amp; messy..it%26#039;s just what they have to do to heal properly..Take Care :)

Is hydrocortisone 1% steroid cream harmful in anyway?

I%26#039;m using it and would like to know if there are any side effects. Mum says it can affect hormones after prolonged use? Most I%26#039;ve read is that it may cause a rash.|||Using the cream long term can cause the skin to thin and strech marks (just in the areas you are frequently applying). If you have eczema or something of the like and need the cream a lot, you should see a doc for steroid-free prescription options.

Hydrocortisone cream usp1% with aloe cort cream?

my doctor gave me this cream and told me to put because im on accutane what does this cream really do? stop the itching or get rid of the redness? is it bad to put it on everyday|||Both it will stop the itching and get red of the redness. Do not use it more frequently than your Dr. suggests. Hydrocortisone is an anti-inflammatory drug that decreases redness, swelling and itching.|||It is a mild steroid cream %26amp; will stop itching %26amp; redness. You should not use for more than the time your Dr tells you or the directions on the tube say b/c it can dry out your skin %26amp; make things worse.

Does hydrocortisone valerate cream REALLY expire?

Or will it still work to some extent or another a couple of years later?|||It expires. It%26#039;s still somewhat effective for at least a year or two after the date on the tube, provided it%26#039;s been properly sealed. It most decreases in efficacy with time.|||Yes, it expires. The active ingredients become less effective and lose potency. The non-active ingredients can also break down and in some cases actually become spoiled. It probably is not necessary to throw something out on its due date, but I would use it up or replace it w/in a couple of months at the most.|||yes the chemicals in it breakdown after a while and it is no longer effective.|||The expiration date referrs to it%26#039;s peak of performance. It will be less and less effective over time. I personally would not use anything that has expired in and on my body over 1 month.

If I spread 1% Hydrocortisone cream on my arm pits for say a week -- soo scrumptious !!!?

And if I had the flu at the time would it make flu symptoms go away, by suppressing my immune system ???|||It wouldn%26#039;t do anything, except make you more likely to get an infected sweat gland or hair follicle in your armpit. The only reason you would have to put cortisone on your armpit would be if you had a dermatitis there.|||In addition to Doc Armalite%26#039;s answer: Suppressing your immune system wouldn%26#039;t make an illness go away; it would make it worse, since your body would no longer be able to fight disease. That%26#039;s why HIV/AIDS kills.

Is 0.5 % hydrocortisone cream safe for babys face?

My almost 2 month old still has baby acne flare ups and really dry skin. My girlfriend has a baby as well and used this on her face and it cleared up. Im getting mixed feelings about putting this product on her face. I know its only suppose to be used a couple of times sparingly.....what do you think?|||I would absolutely not use it. Two months is pretty young and steroid creams tend to thin the skin (which is why you are told to use it sparingly and infrequently), although 0.5% is a low potency. Still, I just think it%26#039;s a bad idea. My son (now 15) had a kind of baby acne, almost cystic little areas on his cheeks, and we didn%26#039;t use anything on his face, I don%26#039;t think it even occurred to us then. It didn%26#039;t seem to bother him whatsoever. Nothing you use will actually cure it so you will be using whatever medication for awhile, not good for a baby%26#039;s skin!!

I would recommend checking for natural remedies or just leave it alone and let it pass on it%26#039;s own.

My son is now 15 and has the occasional little pimples here and there, but no real acne trouble to speak of. Just in case your wondering about your child%26#039;s skin in the future..|||I would check with the on call MD at the pediatrician%26#039;s office first.

Is It Safe To Put Hydrocortisone Cream.........?

on your face? How about near your eyes, especially if you are very careful?

Why is it that it is not recommended for the face?|||I%26#039;ve put it on my face before and my complexion is beautiful the next day. I keep a tube of it in my make up case for emergencies only.|||Depends on the purpose for which u wish to use the cream.

Such creams do come for eyes.|||Yes, but ONLY IF you are under specialist supervision (ie the dermatologist told you to use it there).

I%26#039;ve had various creams prescribed for my face over the years- including some of the strongest steroid ointments available. They can feel like they are burning and they do thin the skin, but they can help when nothing else seems to.

Don%26#039;t use steroid creams or ointments on your face unless your doctor prescribes it!|||No its not licensed to put on your face. This is because it is a steroid cream, meaning it is too strong to be put on such delicate skin - particuarly around the eyes. I am a pharmacy assisstant, so can tell you we would not be allowed to sell it for use on the face! sorry!

See your doctor to prescribe an alternative, or ask your local pharmacy for advice.

My son has a rash, I took him to the doctor and she gave him hydrocortisone cream 2.5% and Nystatin. She said?

mix them for two days than use the nystatin the rest of the week. It is getting worse and is spreading. Does anyone have any advice on how to treat this diaper rash.|||I just let my son air out as much as we could when he had his rash and before he goes to bed I make sure he has ointment of some sort on so it will act as a barrier with the wet diapers in the night. On advise on how not to get diaper rash is change the baby%26#039;s diaper more frequently. Make sure you pat the bottom with powder to help absorb moisture.|||Anytime I have been given nystatin I was suppose to use it 3 times a day for about a week. The other times you change him use the hydrocortisone cream. Make sure you are using a wipe EVERY TIME you change the diaper. Good luck|||I have used both of those creams. My son had a diaper rash that would not go away. The doc said buy Resinol-it is a burn cream-you have to go to the pharmacist to get it (it is behind counter). I never did try it-every pharmacy was out. I just made sure to bathe him every day-sometimes 2-3x. I also let him go without a diaper to air out. Just put a towel under him and fold it over-it will be loose(to prevent him from peeing in his own face-lol).|||Let him go without his diaper for a little bit, pad him bed, air is going to be the best thing for it|||Instead of using a wet one, use a warm wash cloth, then put the cream on him. There is a drying agent in wet ones and could be making his bum extra sensitive.|||My son%26#039;s pedi gave us nystatin ointment for his diaper rash because nothing else was working (destine, powder, etc.) to use two to three times a day. If the rash is still getting worse, I would look at the type of diaper, wipes, soap, etc.. that you are using, he may have an allergy or sensitivity to something else that you are using. Look for things with fragrances or dyes in them and try to eliminate them. Another thing that may work is to let his butt air off between diaper changes a bit. I have found that being in the open air helps a bit too. Just lay him on a towel or something and loosely cover to protect your self and your surroundings. I would also make a trip back to the doc and see if anything else is recommended. Best of luck, I know how bad you feel when it seams there is nothing you can do to make things better.|||Yes. You need a water based product that will penetrate your baby%26#039;s skin and deeply condition and hydrate with the proper ingredients to treat his rash. Arbonne has a great baby care line that is botanically-based and pH correct, pediatrician and dermatologist tested, non-sensitizing, non-irritating, and formulated without nut oils. Their diaper rash cream is formulated with oat flour which is an emollient and an emulsifier. It鈥檚 highly absorbent and hypoallergenic. Oat flour helps to soothe and soften dry, itchy and sensitive skin. You cannot purchase Arbonne through retail stores. If you%26#039;re interested in learning more, I%26#039;ll be happy to help you.|||Let his bum get aired as often as possible and use plain water to clean his bum then once it has cleared up you can use fragrance free wipes he may have sensitive skin, thats what i got told by the docor for my 15 week old son and his bum is fine now.|||air him out as much as possible......my son gets horrible diaper rashes from disposable diapers i switched to cloth and no more terrible rashes....warm oatmeal bath works too.....hydrocortisone and nystatin is used for yeast diaper infections if the diaper rash isn%26#039;t yeasty it probably will do nothing at all...the creams should work within a day and you%26#039;d see a difference but since theres been no improvement I%26#039;d stop using them...|||If the nystatin is not working try switching the diaper brand or the baby wipes brand maybe he%26#039;s allergic to one of the other. It might also be the baby shampoo, baby soap or whatever it might be you bathe your child with.|||YOU NEED TO PUT POWDER ON BABIES WHEN YOUR DONE GIVING HIM A BATH AND WHEN U CHANGE HIS DIAPER!!|||If you have been using the cream for a couple of days and it is still getting worse, i%26#039;d take him back to the dr. or maybe to a different dr. because any treatment should start to work within a couple of days.|||Plain old Desitin always worked for my kids. Use it for about a week and use it everytime you change him. Wash the area frequently. If it gets to look like open sores, take him the to the DR right away.|||you should try using a natural baby powder after washing him also do not put on any pampers for him but get the cloth diapers that does not keep the heat of his body in when he urinates or poop , this will keep him cool or if you are home with him just leave him bare at times it works wonders try as soon as possible thats very painful for them because it burns keep him off the pampers as much as you can and maybe the pampers you are using is not good for him maybe you need to change to another brand

Ringworm is a fungus, and needs to be treated with an anti-fungal creme. Here is some suggestions from one website for over-the-counter medicines that can help and eliminate the fungal infection.

%26quot;Over the Counter Ringworm Treatments

By Linda Giles

Ringworm is a common skin infection caused by a fungus. The fungi feeds on the dead cells of skin and hair causing a ring of irritated itchy skin that looks like a worm. This may cause a rash and becomes sore. It may appear as scalp ring worm, body ringworm, face ring worm or groin ringworm.

Anyone is susceptible to this contagious fungus infection. Ring worm is easily transmitted by having direct skin-to-skin contact with infected individuals and pets. It may spread indirectly also through objects like towels, clothing, hairbrushes and personal items of persons infected with it.

Ringworm can be cured with medication. For most people it is not necessary to consult a doctor. There are many over the counter ringworm treatments available for ring worm. There are medications taken orally or applied locally, which are effective, well-tolerated, and even considered safe.

1. Ketoconazole

Over-the-counter Ketoconazole cream and shampoo is used to treat ringworm which controls flaking, scaling and itchy scalp caused by dandruff. It slows down the growth of the fungi that cause the infection. Ketoconazole cream is applied once a day for 2-6 weeks. Over-the-counter ketoconazole shampoo is used as needed to control dandruff. Head and shoulder shampoo works well for scalp ring worm.

2. Miconazole

Miconazole, an antifungal agent, besides controlling the growth of the fungi has some antibacterial properties also. It has very minimal side effects. Micatin, miconazole nitrate cures athlete%26#039;s foot and jock itch and relieves itching, scaling, burning and discomfort.

3. Mycelex

Another over the counter ringworm treatment is Mycelex which offers a highly effective cure and is available at a reasonable price. Butoconazole nitrate, the active ingredient in Mycelex, kills the fungus known to cause the infection.

4. Selsun Blue shampoo

Selsun Blue shampoo controls scaling, flaking and itching of the scalp and functions as an over the counter treatment for dandruff. It contains aloe and moisturizers for scalp and hair. It is ideal for sensitive skin. Selsun can be used as a topical treatment for ringworm.

5. Lotrimin

Lotrimin, an antifungal agent for clotrimazole, is used for tinea (ring worm). It is easily available over-the-counter in many drug stores and supermarkets. Lotrimin Athlete%26#039;s Foot Cream provides effective relief from ringworm caused itching, burning, and cracking. It is greaseless, odorless and non-staining.

Ring worm infections of the skin can be given treatment at home with antifungal medications. It improves within 2 weeks. But most ring worm fungus need 2 to 4 weeks. The most important thing while treating ringworm is to finish the full course of medication as needed, even if the symptoms are gone. This is to prevent them from coming back again.

So don鈥檛 worry, if you notice a dark itchy thing on your skin. Start taking any of these over the counter treatments for ringworm and get cured. But remember, over the counter ringworm treatments are for the earlier stages of infection. It should not be sought when the ring worm infection is severe. Young children should always be treated for ringworm by a competent doctor.

Over The Counter Treatment For Ringworm

Subodh Jain

By Subodh Jain

July 30, 2007

What do you do when you suddenly notice yourself scratching and itching an area on your body that won%26#039;t stop, and then you see a strange red ring beginning to form? It can be a startling experience for sure, but what you have is most likely a case of ringworm.

Ringworm shows up as a red rash about the size of a silver dollar. Basically, it%26#039;s a harmless skin condition if treated with common over the counter products for ringworm.

You can catch the fungus that causes ringworm in a variety of ways. Having direct contact with someone who is already infected is one way, as well as loving on your pet who has ringworm. Yes, your pets can easily get ringworm and then pass it on to you as you pet them and love on them.

Ringworm is contagious and easily spread, especially among young children. You should avoid sharing combs, brushes, hats, and other personal hygiene items with someone who is infected with ringworm.

There are several good over the counter treatments for ringworm available. A few of these include:

Micatin

Lotrimin

Mycelex

Miconazole works quite well|||hydrocotisone will not help you with a ring worm!!!!!!!!

the ring worm is really a fungus!!!!!!!!hydrocotisone is a steroidal compound what you need is a fungicide such as

terbinafine hydrochloride or any other fungicide that is used in accordance with that particular species of fungus. be sure to follow directions and wash your hands before and after applications. usually takes 2 to 6 weeks to rid most cases .|||There is an athletes foot creme that is suppose to work, or an anti fungal creme. Maybe Lamisil.|||No, ringworm is caused by tinea, a fungus.

Try an OTC cream for fungal infections.|||It will help it. But you will also need something like clotrimazole 1%. I would mix the two together for my son and it went away quickly.|||Ring worm is a fungal infection. So, cortisone will make it LOOK like it%26#039;s going away by reducing the outward symptoms of infection... but it does this by suppressing your immune response in the area, so the fungus actually gets a better hold on your skin and will get worse when you stop using the cortisone.

To make it go away, use an antifungal cream. If you read the packages of the creams at the pharmacy (or ask the pharmacist), it says which ones you can use for ringworm.

You can also go to a doctor, they can give you lamisil which works better.

Hydrocortisone cream and genital warts.?

I was recently diagnosed with hpv, genital warts. well they can get pretty unbearably itchy. i was just curious if anyone knew if hydrocortisone cream would help with that itch?|||you can remove genital warts by surgery, freezing, laser, acid or cream but genital warts can reappear again and again because genital warts appears when your immune system is weak!

HPV is the virus that causes genital warts. People can be infected with HPV and never show any symptoms. Others will develop genital warts. These warts can stay the same size, grow, or go away on their own. It largely depends on the infected person%26#039;s immune system. A healthy immune system means your body may be able to suppress the virus and not show symptoms.

Even after the warts go away, the person will always remain infected with HPV. That person can spread the virus even without showing symptoms.

so you must build up your immune system because your body can get rid of genital warts by itself if your immune system will be strong! so eat more healthy food, more vitamins and more sport activities!

also you should use some herbal treatment!

in that case Wartrol is a good (probably the best) product that gets rid of genital warts and makes you feel more confident knowing that they wont reappear again! It works by stimulating your immune system to fight the HPV virus that causes the warts. of course it is better if you use full course (5 months - if I remember correctly).

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Wartrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.wartrol.com/?aid=749165

Triamcinolone vs hydrocortisone cream?

which one is betetr?|||It just depends on what you%26#039;re using it for. Triamcinolone is much stronger, but you should not use it on sensitive areas like your face, it can thicken your skin there or you may have a reaction to it. Hydrocortisone is not so strong, so depending on what you%26#039;re using it for maybe start with that and if it doesn%26#039;t work try the triamcinolone, but, again, only use it on tougher areas of skin.

Hydrocortisone cream and pregnancy?

I used some over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream earlier this evening. After a few hours, I got worried about my baby (I%26#039;m 33 weeks pregnant), so I washed it off. Does anyone know if hydrocortisone cream is contraindicated during pregnancy?|||I was specifically told by two doctors that hydrocortisone cream IS NOT safe during pregnancy. It gets absorbed into the skin and the bloodstream. There seems to be a lot of contradictory statements on here so you really should consult with your doctor. With that said, the small amount that you put on once is not going to hurt the baby. Just make sure you consumt with a doctor before using any skin products because quite a few of them do make it into the blood stream.|||Hydrocortisone is safe during pregnancy. Although this hasn%26#039;t been proven 100% true, doctors still agree that there have been no known cases of it affecting the fetus.

EDIT: There are two types of hydrocortisone. One is cream the other is an ointment. The ointment is thinner and is absorbed into the blood stream quicker than cream. Also, if you use hydrocortisone for less than seven days and don%26#039;t keep a bandage on the applied area there is only a very small chance it will absorbe into the blood stream.

I think I should know a little more about this since I went through 4 years of schooling to answer questions like this....|||YES IT IS, i use it for my excema before i got pregnant, the first thing the gyno told me was to stop using it as the steriods in it will penetrate your skin and go to the baby.

trust me i have been using that stuff for over 12 years or more, i have had excema since i was 2 months old|||Hydrocortisone is safe during pregnancy. Difference between OTC Hydrocortisone Cream & Prescription Hydrocortisone Probutate Cream (AKA Pandel)?

Can someone please direct me to reputable websites that detail the differences between these two, that also have illustrations of each products molecular structure? Thank you!|||First link is the package insert for the Pandel

Second link is regular hydrocortisone.

These sites are affiliated with the Nation Library of medicine, so they should be credible. These are written for a Pharmacist. If you want different information, try the last two links. They do not have chemical formulas though.

First is Pandel-

Second is regular hydrocortisone

Also Pandel is a synthetic form of hydrocortisone.

A cream in the pharmacy is labeled 5 g hydrocortisone per 100 g of aquaphor ointment. What is the percentage ?

of the cream? This is the rest of the question from above.|||Hi,

For this question, notice that we have to find the percentage which is a relationship between the PART and the WHOLE.

Notice that the whole is always bigger than the part, since the part represents a small fraction.

Therefore, 5 grams = the part and 100 grams = the whole and can be expressed as:

[ part / whole ] x 100 = [ 5 / 100 ] x 100

Which now equals:

FINAL ANSWER: 5%

I hope that helps you out! Please let me know if you have any other questions!|||Everyone is right, but please note that the answer is 5 weight percent. In this case, this is likely the desired answer, but it could also be expressed as volume percent or mole percent. To provide those results would require the density (volume percent) or average molecular weight (mole percent) of each.

Always include the units in your calculations and answers. If the units don%26#039;t work out properly, you did the calculation wrong. Its an easy check on your answer.|||Are you serious? %26quot;Percentage%26quot; means %26quot;parts per 100%26quot;, and your freakin%26#039; question gives you the answer!!|||5g/100g

= 1/20

= 0.05

= 5%|||5/100=5%|||5/100 = .05, or 5%

Did anybody use OTC hydrocortisone cream during pregnancy? Is it safe?

Yes.

I was actually recommended it by my doctor for my errr - hemorrhoids - that is what Preparation H is. I also use it on my bug bites. It is safe.

I was prescribed hydrocortisone cream for dermatitis,?

will using that cream affect my adrenal glands or cortisol levels in my bloodstream?

also, if i%26#039;m puting it on my eyelid and the cream from on my eyelid touched my hair and then that peice of hair goes in my mouth can that harm me?|||Simply put, no. There won%26#039;t be enough systemic absorption from the small area of skin to which you%26#039;re applying the cream to affect your adrenal glands or any other part of that system. Ingesting a minute amount will not be harmful though the taste will likely leave much to be desired. The greatest danger is that you may suffer eye irritation if the cream is absorbed through the eyelid. Should this happen, simply flush your eye with water (it will not damage your vision).|||Hydrocortison cream is usually an %26quot;over the counter%26quot; cream I think.. But anyway, if you were actually prescribed something, your doctor probably knew what he was doing.. I wouldn%26#039;t think that the cream would affect anything like that, and it shouldn%26#039;t harm you if it got into your mouth from a strand of hair.. I probably wouldn%26#039;t suck some out of the tube, but I%26#039;m sure I little bit like that would be harmless!

Trying to cure tight foreskin - hydrocortisone cream 1.0%?

Im thinking about going to a drug store to purchase hydrocortisone cream 1.0%, i heard it can help loosin up my foreskin, but just wondering how often would i use it?, and what if it touches my penis glans? cause apperently your sopose to put it on the outside of the foreskin and inside. any other tips about using this? how often and how much do i put??

Thanks|||GO to the DOCTOR!|||Okay. First of all, the foreskin is supposed to be tight over the head of the penis. That is its purpose. To protect and cover.

Secondly, hydro-cortisone is an anti-itch cream. Who told you that would stretch the skin? That%26#039;s crazy.

Now, if you choose to do so, that%26#039;s your prerogative. However, it is never safe to put this stuff on the inside of the foreskin. You%26#039;re asking for infection if you do. Keep it on the outside.|||Easiest way to cure that is to stretch out the skin by jerking off ( dry ) with no lube.. Jerk it and use the foreskin as you move.. It stretches the skin.. The next day, your dawg will look like a cobra and the skin will be bowed out just below the glans. How do I know? I%26#039;m 34, been there done that..|||Do not diagnose your own problem. There are many things that can cause a tight foreskin. Go to your doctor, find out what is wrong and get it treated properly. steroid creams can cause thinning of your foreskin which can make matters worse.|||it%26#039;s a different steroid cream than what the doctor will give you. And steroid creams are not created equally. And there are potential dangers of using steroid creams. Don%26#039;t do this without consulting a doctor. You could end up doing more damage than good.|||Follow the information in the links below and try some stretching before you go the route of the doctor. You can do these stretches without medical or parental intervention.

Start out in the shower and let the warm water loosen and relax your skin. Begin with the one that tells you to pull the tip of the foreskin away from the body,...outward. This will help to ensure the bond between the glans and foreskin is releasing to allow the whole foreskin to retract. Do this stretch several times. After that, place as many fingers as is comfortable into the opening and gently pull outward to expand the opening. Gentle is the name of the game here. Pain is an indication you are stretching too hard. Stretch, and hold the stretch for a minute, relax the skin, and stretch again. Follow these with some gentle retraction stretches. You need to do this every time you shower. If you incorporate this into the daily shower routine, you will see results in about two weeks with full and painless retraction taking 3-4 months. After it will retract, you are set for life.

Alternatively, you can go to the doctor and ask for a steroid cream made for this purpose. It is not hydrocortizone so do not waste your money. This cream will help to loosen and relax the frenar band of muscle that closes down the opening. Do not even let the doctor breathe the word: circumcision. It is the last thing you need. There are a lot of options and circumcision is not one of them.

Good luck with this.

How many grams of hydrocortisone are in 250 g of a 1% cream....?

A 1% hydrocortisone cream is a compound that contains 1 g of hydrocortisone per 100 g of cream. How many grams of hydrocortisone are in 250 g of a 1% cream? How do you figure this out?|||As you know, 1% means 1/100.

Let%26#039;s figure out how 1g is 1% of 100g compound.

100g*(1/100)=1.

That%26#039;s why 1% of 100g is 1g.

So, you get the right answer from 100g.

Now let%26#039;s figure out 1% of 250g compound.

250g*(1/100)=2.5g

Then you can get a right answer : 2.5g.

How easy it is.|||2.5 grams.

I had the same problem during pregnancy and after giving birth. I did try one application of hydro-cortisone, but it did not work. The sweet almond oil started working almost instantly both during and after.|||Always ask your doctor first! Only s/he knows the other medical conditions you have, your history, and whether or not your baby is likely to be affected.|||Definitely ask your Doc about it!
