Does hydrocortisone valerate cream REALLY expire?
Or will it still work to some extent or another a couple of years later?|||It expires. It%26#039;s still somewhat effective for at least a year or two after the date on the tube, provided it%26#039;s been properly sealed. It most decreases in efficacy with time.|||Yes, it expires. The active ingredients become less effective and lose potency. The non-active ingredients can also break down and in some cases actually become spoiled. It probably is not necessary to throw something out on its due date, but I would use it up or replace it w/in a couple of months at the most.|||yes the chemicals in it breakdown after a while and it is no longer effective.|||The expiration date referrs to it%26#039;s peak of performance. It will be less and less effective over time. I personally would not use anything that has expired in and on my body over 1 month.
